Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to join our team in ensuring the highest standards of quality for aerospace component parts. The QA Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying that all components meet strict regulatory, safety, and performance standards, including those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), and other relevant bodies. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our aerospace products and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
- Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of aerospace component parts, including machined parts, assemblies, and raw materials.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) to validate manufacturing processes and ensure adherence to design requirements (Net Inspect / Discuss experience desired).
- Perform in-process and final inspections to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformances.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document inspection results, including pass/fail criteria, deviations, and non-conformance reports (NCRs), in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection activities, test data, and quality metrics.
- Prepare and review quality documentation, such as inspection plans, control plans, and certificates of conformance (CoC).
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all inspected parts meet regulatory requirements, including FAA, EASA, and other aerospace standards.
- Verify compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements and participate in internal and external audits.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to aerospace quality assurance.
Non-Conformance Management:
- Identify and document non-conforming parts or materials, initiating corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to investigate root causes of defects and implement solutions.
- Participate in material review board (MRB) meetings to disposition non-conforming materials.
Continuous Improvement:
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve inspection efficiency.
- Provide feedback to manufacturing teams to prevent recurring quality issues.
- Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance inspection skills and knowledge.
Safety and Workplace Standards:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection, preferably in the aerospace, aviation, or defense industries.
- Proven experience with precision measurement tools, CMM, and NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing).
- Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102 (FAI), and Nadcap processes.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications (e.g., GD&T – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly.
- Must be comfortable with NetInspect FAI software.
- Experience with quality management software (e.g., ERP systems, inspection databases) is a plus.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements.
- Experience with supplier quality management and auditing.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing or inspection room setting.
