Requirements:
Certification: Possess A&P certification.
Driver’s License and pass airport training.
Responsibilities:
Personnel performing inspection functions report to the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Accountable Manager and have the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. They are responsible for performing duties as directed and assigned.
QC Inspectors are responsible for performing final inspections on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to /or approved by the FAA.
Duties:
1. Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.
2. Understanding the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article(s) being inspected.
3. Ensuring all inspections are properly performed and recorded, and all records are properly executed before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by this repair station.
4. Performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA
5. Properly recording the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
6. Approve ‘Return to Service’ for all articles and issued an 8130-3 if requested by the airline customer.
7. Promptly provide a written report to the Supervisor on duty any relevant discrepancy, risk, danger, tool or equipment malfunction, measuring and test equipment “out-of-tolerance” or without a valid calibrating period, maintenance originated delay or cancellation, and any other relevant information to be promptly provided to POSC management representatives.
8. Comply with the airworthiness, safety, security, quality and any other requirements set by the FAA, TSA, Airport Authority, USCIS, or any other authority or the airline customer.
