Job Description
Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH) is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to serve as a Quality Assurance Analyst.
This position is responsible for responding to service recipients’ complaints, conducting internal investigations as related to human rights and corporate compliance, and conducting documentation audits utilizing our electronic medical record system to determine if it supports billing for those individuals receiving intellectual disability, mental health, and/or substance abuse services.
The Quality Assurance Analyst performs these duties under the direction and general supervision of the CIBH Quality Assurance Administrator/Corporate Compliance Officer.
Coordinates human rights investigations into alleged abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Reviews agency incident reports and facilitates client complaints.
Audits agency programs relative to governing policies and regulations.
Serves on related agency, regional and state committees as needed.
Compiles statistical and word processing reports utilizing Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint) to present performance outcome measurements and other QA performance criteria.
Assists with the development of quality assurance/corporate compliance, and human rights policy and procedures.
Assists with agency electronic medical record form/protocol development.
Delivers PowerPoint presentations and assists with agency-wide staff consultation and training regarding quality assurance, human rights and corporate compliance requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires a bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience in human services or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City’s Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the provision of services for either intellectual disabilities, mental health, and/or substance abuse is strongly preferred.
A master’s degree in a human services field is preferred and a license (e.g. LCSW, LPC, RN) is highly desirable
Experience providing services for at least two, if not all three disability areas, is preferred.
Supervisory experience of direct care services to include oversight of chart documentation is also preferred.
Knowledge of DMAS, DBHDS Licensing and Human Rights, and other payer regulations, as well of the HIPAA Privacy regulations, desired. Community Services Board experience is desirable.
Applicants should also possess strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to advocate for service recipients and their family members in a balanced and objective manner and an ability to recognize and respond to diverse thinking styles, learning styles and cultural qualities.
