Job Title: QA/QC Supervisor
Compensation: $20.00/hr – $30.00/hr (DOE).
Employment terms: Full Time – Non-exempt
Role & Responsibilities:
The QA/QC Supervisor is responsible for leading the company’s Product Batch Issuance & Release, Analytical Testing, and Product Sampling programs. This role oversees product batch record lifecycle management, including submitting and approving work orders (WKRs), supervising a VA support team for the QA/QC department, and reviewing documentation to approve or reject product batch releases.
Additionally, this position manages the full scope of the analytical testing and sampling programs, including continuous improvement and development of the sampling protocol, scheduling of all samples with the analytical labs, COA review, and lab communications and/or investigations. Strong leadership, technical QA/QC skills, and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues are essential to success in this role.
Primary Duties (including, but not limited to):
Overseeing all aspects of the company’s Product Batch Issuance & Release program
Submitting work order requests (WKRs) for internal inventory management projects.
Overseeing and managing the performance of the QA/QC VA team that is responsible for processing all WKRs and digitally filing all paperwork received from the BHO, SHO, and Packaging departments.
Completing reviews of all paperwork and photos received as part of the product batch records, providing your digital signature to approve/reject release of all product batches for Sales.
Completing mass balancing and yield reporting for each PBR on C15 prior to release, providing mass balancing/yield reports on each project’s associated ClickUp task.
Leading and completing investigations for Incident Reports and other Quality Events as needed to document any quality issues identified during the product batch record reviews, including but not limited to issues identified with product quality or safety, yield or loss, intake or PO variance, etc.
Overseeing all aspects of the company’s analytical testing program
Developing and maintaining the company’s analytical sampling protocol, updating it as needed over time to ensure it maintains alignment with industry best practices.
Managing the analytical testing program for all departments, ensuring that all samples are taken according to the developed sampling protocol and coordinating with the analytical labs to have the samples sent out for analysis within 24 hours of batch completion.
Reviewing returned COA results to check for pass/fail results, working with the analytical labs to investigate and/or resolve any failures or variances.
Overseeing all aspects of the company’s product sampling program
Overseeing, monitoring, and managing the company’s product sampling program including but not limited to trade samples and R&D samples, ensuring compliance with SOP-QUA-008 and current DCC regulations §15041.2 – Trade Samples and §15049 – Track and Trace Reporting.
Maintaining all product sampling data collection spreadsheets and forms, updating them as needed to align with new product types or to improve the quality of data being collected on product samples that were created.
Notifying Sales/Marketing and the broader Operations team if any product batches are found to be low quality.
Maintaining the library of acknowledgements received from participants in the product sampling program.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for education, training, and prior experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to pass a background screening for employment within the CA cannabisindustry after the company makes a conditional job offer.
Preferred skills & knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of GMP documentation, COAs, RCA/CAPAs, quality event management, and product batch management.
Team leadership/management experience, particularly with managing remote teams/VAs.
Proficiency in QMS software (C15 preferred), ClickUp, Google Sheets, and data analysis tools.
1+ years experience manipulating, analyzing, and translating large data sets.
Proficiency with Google Sheets, SQL, Power BI or similar data analysis tools
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to draw insights from data trends and patterns
Critical thinker and problem solver
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Physical requirements:
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands.

Attendance & general performance expectations:
40 hrs. per week minimum, additional hrs. as needed by the production schedule.
