Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive QA Lead to oversee quality assurance activities across projects while mentoring and developing junior QA team members. The QA Lead will be responsible for defining QA strategies, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and acting as a key communicator between QA, development, and business stakeholders.
This role combines hands-on testing leadership with people development and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Leadership
- Define, implement, and continuously improve QA processes, standards, and best practices
- Lead test planning, test execution, defect management, and test reporting across multiple initiatives
- Ensure appropriate test coverage including functional, regression, integration, and UAT support
- Champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor, coach, and support junior QA engineers to develop technical and professional skills
- Conduct regular reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support individual development plans
- Promote a collaborative, learning-focused QA culture
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary QA point of contact for project managers, developers, and business stakeholders
- Clearly communicate QA status, risks, and quality metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release readiness discussions
Hands-On Contribution
- Remain hands-on where required, contributing to test design and execution
- Support test automation strategy and implementation (where applicable)
- Review test artefacts to ensure quality and consistency
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a QA Lead or Senior QA role
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience testing web-based and/or enterprise applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading junior QA team members
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across concurrent projects
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Desirable Skills
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with performance or security testing
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps)
