A rapidly growing Trading Firm is seeking a new Quality Assurance Lead to build and lead a QA team, define testing strategies, establish both manual and automated testing frameworks, and oversee the standardization of QA processes across all teams in the business.
Responsibilities:
Build a QA team up from 2 members to 10+ over time.
Guide, mentor, and support the QA team
Provide strategy and direction, and establish best practices for the firm’s QA function (software quality, test automation, research data pipelines, and continuous testing)
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various services (including systematic trading components and data workflows)
Ensure test coverage across functional, integration, performance, and security testing
Collaborate with engineers, researchers, data engineers and product teams to define test requirements and strategies
Identify gaps in existing testing strategies and coverage and work with engineering teams to provide appropriate solutions
Perform root cause analysis of incidents and develop proactive remediation solutions
Participate in architectural and design discussions to incorporate testability and automation
Requirements:
Must Haves:
Experience growing and leading close-knit QA teams
Extensive experience developing and implementing manual and automated testing frameworks
Experience in a trading firm or financial technology company, with a strong understanding of systematic trading systems
Nice to Haves:
Experience with GoogleTest
Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
Experience working with data pipelines
Experience with API and UI testing frameworks (i.e. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc)
Experience with latency and performance testing tools (i.e. K6, Locust, JMeter, etc)
Experience with scripting tools (Python, Java, or Golang)
Experience with database query languages (i.e. SQL, NoSQL, etc)
Experience with big data technologies (i.e. Apache Spark, Kafka, or Snowflake, etc)
Experience with logging tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK)
