A Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for working with the Quality Assurance Team to help assure that Training, Calibrations, Audits, Internal/External CAPA, etc. are performed in a timely manner. The Quality Assurance Engineer analyzes inspection and testing data to find areas that require improvement. The engineer uses the information from testing and inspection reports to investigate the cause of defective products. A quality engineer will focus on raw materials, processes or machinery as potential causes of defective products. Engineers participate in continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, eliminate scrap and reduce rework operations
Responsibilities Include:
-Ensuring products comply with quality, regulatory and legal standards.
-Aiding the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Assurance Team to guide and train production staff in quality measures.
-Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
-Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
-Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
-Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
-Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
-Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
-Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
-Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
-Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
-Preparation of QA reports.
-Other activities as required.
Qualifications Profile:
-Professional demeanor and appearance while working within an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, FDA environment.
-Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work constructively with individuals at all levels of responsibility.
-Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with, or ability to quickly learn collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
-An inquisitive and innovative nature, excellent critical and analytical thinking, integrity, willingness to step into new initiatives, strong communication and facilitation skills, team focused mentality, along with a commitment to continuously learning and improving.
-Analytical and have strong mathematics skills. A quality assurance engineer may work independently and should be able to manage time effectively to complete projects on time.
n Available for limited travel (usually local).
Education and Experience:
-Prefer, but not required, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or applicable discipline.
-Previous experience working in a quality support role.
-Previous experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment is required.
