About Your New Job
As the Technical Manager, you will lead the site Quality Assurance function and take responsibility for maintaining and continuously improving food safety, quality and technical standards.
- You will lead, organise and develop the Quality Assurance team, ensuring the department is appropriately resourced, trained and supported.
- You will maintain and continuously improve the site’s food safety, quality and technical management systems.
- You will ensure ongoing compliance with Irish and EU food legislation, customer requirements and recognised industry standards.
- You will lead the technical and quality function during customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections and technical visits.
- You will manage the internal audit programme and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed effectively and within agreed timelines.
- You will work closely with Production, Sales and Innovation teams to ensure new and existing products meet food safety, quality, legal and customer requirements.
- You will investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and quality incidents, ensuring effective root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- You will provide technical advice and guidance to site management and operational teams.
What Skills You Need
- A qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management or another relevant scientific or food-related discipline, or relevant industry experience.
- Significant experience in a senior Quality or Technical role within food manufacturing, ideally within the seafood sector.
- Proven experience leading and developing a Quality Assurance or Technical team.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, food safety management systems and quality assurance principles.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food legislation, risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
- HACCP certification with experience developing, reviewing and maintaining HACCP systems.
- Knowledge of IFS Food and organic certification standards.
- Experience leading customer, regulatory and certification audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
