Quality Assurance Manager
Responsible for developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for the Company and its supply chain. This includes auditing for compliance, developing and sustaining the Quality Management System in line with industry standards (including ISO 9001), accreditation requirements, and business needs. Regulate, control, and improve the quality of all processes throughout the business and the final product.
Essential Functions
Develop the Management Systems strategy and management arrangements for key milestones.
Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO
9001).
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing the impact on Quality Management Systems.
Manage all external registration requirements and liaise with external bodies.
Implement relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System.
Ensure all in-house systems and procedures are updated to meet external certification needs.
Ensure systems and procedures satisfy customer requirements and audits.
Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.
Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS.
Ensure corrective actions are taken to address nonconformities.
Verify closure of nonconformities with Certification Bodies.
Hold regular audit performance meetings.
Manage the audit nonconformity database.
Provide detailed analysis of nonconformities.
Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
Report on achievement of targets and identify required actions.
Promote high standards through personal example.
Communicate with personnel at all levels regarding Quality matters.
Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
Contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
Anticipate and overcome obstacles.
Embrace personal challenge and take ownership for team cohesion and development.
Follow the Group Code of Conduct and Group Compliance Policy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree in related field, or five years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry experience.
Exposure to managing a union environment.
Detailed understanding of ISO 9001.
Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Protective eyewear and steel-toed boots are mandatory in the warehouse.
Travel
This role will require travel among our facilities, up to 20% per year.
