About the Company: A growing manufacturing operation located in Western New York. Ideally, candidates for this position would have background in CNC machining, fabrication in a low volume/high mix environment.

About the Job: The Quality Manager will support ongoing quality initiatives within the growing manufacturing environment.

There are three major components of the position:

•QMS (quality management system), which includes ISO administration (ISO9001:2015 certified)

•QA (quality assurance), this is really between QMS and QC. Setting up processes and documentation for preventative measures for better quality performance.

•QC (quality control). This involves hands-on manufacturing knowledge and ability to use inspection technology. It is verifying quality output and verifying QA measures are effective.

Key responsibilities include:

Quality System

Manage and maintains quality system to comply with ISO accreditation requirements

Develop, execute, and analyze quality reporting measures for management

Conduct and manage ISO management meetings

Schedule, manage, participate/conduct internal and external quality audits

Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection

Train employees on quality activities (when required)

Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects and reviews representing quality assurance and the customer

Documentation and Quality Plans

Serve as primary quality resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement

Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products

Develop, promote, and execute quality plans, test methodology, documents, and inspection reports

Maintain, verify, and supply certifications such as material, finish, heat treat, machining, welding or miscellaneous per job requirements

Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans

Customer/Supplier Interaction

Establish customer/supplier quality requirements

Interface with customer/supplier quality representatives concerning problems with quality and assure that effective corrective actions are implemented

Schedule, manage, participate/conduct customer/supplier quality audits

Corrective Actions

Administrate operation of the corrective action system

Investigate and document root cause and corrective/preventive actions

Review and enter formal corrective action information into quality system

Answer customer corrective action response requests

Request supplier corrective actions when required

Promote continuous improvement

Inspections

Perform manual (hand tools) or CMM inspections and verification activities for products

Acts as primary resource to coordinate and execute inspection and buyoff activities

Perform random inspections for operators

Advise, train and coordinate operators on inspection techniques and requirements

Calibrations

Responsible for calibration of company owned measurement and test equipment

Manage calibration of employee-owned tools per calibration guidelines

Responsible for repair, acquisition, storage, and maintenance of company owned measurement and test equipment

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in the Field: Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred

Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation, and manufacturing processes

Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control

In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and application/auditing experience

Proficient in using manufacturing measurement and test equipment

Proficient in Microsoft Office, computer technology and systems

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Compensation: $100,000 -$115,000 base salary plus bonus
