The business is scaling toward a $10M revenue target and AS9100D certification, with a strong emphasis on quality, technology, and long-term operational excellence.
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead and mature the quality function during a pivotal growth phase. This role will own the AS9100D certification effort, evolve the quality management system, and develop a collaborative, forward-looking QC organization that scales with the business.
This is a high-impact role requiring both hands-on technical ability and strong, people-centered leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep quality expertise without a rigid or overly enforcement-driven style.
Compensation & Structure
- Target base salary: $125K
- Bonus: 5–10%
- Reporting: Directly to ownership / senior leadership

Team & Operational Expectations
- Current QC team includes a highly tenured inspector approaching retirement
- Hands-on involvement in inspections and training will be required
- Planned addition of a QC inspector within 3–6 months
- Significant focus on training, upskilling, and knowledge transfer
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & AS9100D
- Lead AS9100D certification from current ~50% completion through successful registration
- Finalize rollout of drafted documentation and continuously improve the QMS
- Own procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and audit readiness
- Establish internal audit cadence and corrective action processes
- Drive continuous improvement using data and root cause analysis
Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, and develop the QC inspection team
- Execute knowledge transfer from retiring personnel
- Build scalable training and certification programs
- Grow team capability in support of revenue expansion
Hands-On Quality Operations
- Oversee and support FAIs (AS9102), in-process, and final inspections
- Program, review, and approve CMM inspection programs
- Perform inspections as needed to support throughput and training
- Ensure calibration and reliability of inspection equipment
- Lead customer audits, CARs, and corrective action responses
Systems, Tools & Technology
- Leverage JobBOSS2 ERP for quality data and traceability
- Develop and evolve NCR, CAPA, SPC, and dashboard reporting
- Support future BI and analytics initiatives
- Program and train on ZEISS / CALYPSO CMM systems
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Manage customer corrective actions and audit interactions
- Expand supplier quality oversight as the business scales
- Support new customer qualifications and quality presentations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience in precision manufacturing
- Direct AS9100 or ISO 9001 certification experience (AS9100 strongly preferred)
- Strong GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5)
- CMM programming experience required (ZEISS / CALYPSO)
- Experience with aerospace and/or medical manufacturing environments
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CQM/OE) strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- ISO 13485 or FAA PMA exposure
- CNC machining or manufacturing engineering background
- Experience leading quality in high-growth environments
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement exposure
- Supplier quality management experience
