About The Role
The Quality Assurance Manager at Eat Evergreen Inc will play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating the company's standards of quality and safety across its entire supply chain. This position involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive quality processes to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Operations team, responsible for leading quality management initiatives, conducting audits, and fostering strong relationships with co-manufacturers and external partners. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional to influence the company's quality programs significantly, ensuring that Evergreen’s products meet the highest standards and consumer expectations. The Quality Assurance Manager will also oversee critical areas such as HACCP, GMP, allergen control, traceability, and recall management, working closely with cross-functional teams to uphold safety and quality at every stage of production.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance management within the food industry, preferably with frozen products.
- Proven experience working with co-manufacturing partners.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, FSMA standards, and food safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience with quality management systems and relevant software tools.
- Self-motivated, autonomous, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Experience with sensory evaluation and collaboration with sensory consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to travel up to 30% to various manufacturing and supplier facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead quality process management efforts across all co-manufacturing sites.
- Manage HACCP, GMP, allergen control, and traceability programs to ensure product safety and compliance.
- Conduct site visits to ensure manufacturing processes meet specifications and regulatory standards.
- Oversee certification processes and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Track consumer complaints and analyze trend data to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage internal and external audit programs to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Oversee the recall plan and manage recall procedures efficiently and effectively.
- Establish and maintain testing protocols, including microbiological, sensory, and physical testing of finished products and processes.
- Oversee supplier quality assurance and manage third-party relationships for microbiology testing, sensory evaluation, shelf life testing, and process validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives in quality systems.
