Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Manager develops and leads the Quality Assurance system to ensure operational processes meet Product Standards as outlined in AS9100 and the Quality Assurance Manual. This key position is a change agent responsible for results with minimal guidance, developing strategies, setting priorities, and directing implementation within assigned areas.
Manages the Quality Assurance department:
Supervise and evaluate all Quality Assurance personnel; hire, train, and recommend salary adjustments.
Schedule and monitor inspection and quality activities for maximum effectiveness.
Interprets standards and develops site procedures: Communicates customer, corporate, and division quality standards; maintains procedures supporting the Quality Assurance Manual; promotes quality philosophy including preventive systems.
Implements inspection and record retention procedures: Oversees incoming product inspection, supplier reviews, and surveillance.
Proactively addresses non-conformance: Leads root cause analysis, measurement of non-conformance costs, and maintains data systems. Coordinates management reviews and publishes trend reports.
Interfaces with customers and operations: Identifies requirements and supports continuous process improvements.
Ensures calibration and compliance: Maintains effective gage calibration systems and ensures adherence to standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001. Coordinates audits and enhances internal audit systems.
