Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee testing activities across web, mobile, and custom software projects, ensuring deliverables meet agreed quality standards before release. This role will design and maintain test plans and test cases, coordinate manual and automated testing, track defects, and work closely with developers, designers, and product stakeholders to resolve issues. The person in this position will define and refine QA processes, analyze test results, report on quality metrics, and recommend improvements to prevent recurring defects. They will also contribute to release readiness assessments, risk identification, and documentation of testing outcomes for project teams and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in software quality assurance, including test planning, test case design, regression testing, and defect management.
- Hands-on knowledge of manual testing methods and familiarity with automated testing frameworks or tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
- Understanding of web and mobile application architectures, APIs, and common issues affecting performance, usability, security, and cross-browser or cross-device compatibility.
- Experience working with issue-tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Git-based workflows, or comparable platforms) and clear documentation practices.
- Proven ability to work remotely, manage priorities across multiple projects, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in agile or iterative development environments, with participation in sprint planning, stand-ups, and release cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software QA.
- Experience in a digital agency, product studio, or similar fast-paced setting is a plus, as is exposure to performance testing, security testing, or UX-focused testing.
