We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka looking for a Quality Assurance Manager – Food Manufacturing for a leading company based in Veyangoda.
A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead its quality function and ensure the highest standards of food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality across its manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead quality assurance activities across production, raw material inspection, process control, and finished product evaluation.
- Manage internal and external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Investigate customer complaints, quality deviations, and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate closely with Production, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team while promoting a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the organization.
- Monitor quality KPIs and prepare reports for senior management.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications in Quality Management or Food Safety will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry, including at least 2-3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and food safety regulations.
- Experience in managing audits, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
