About the Role

As a QA/QC Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring hyperscale data center projects are delivered in full compliance with contract documents, owner standards, and all applicable local, state, and federal codes. You will lead the quality program across all phases of construction, with a strong focus on mission-critical systems, commissioning readiness, and operational performance.

This role requires a highly detail-oriented leader who can build and manage a high-performing quality team, drive accountability across trade partners, and ensure that all systems meet the stringent reliability and uptime expectations of hyperscale environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with project teams to interpret and implement contract drawings, specifications, and owner standards specific to hyperscale data center delivery
  • Collaborate with owners, design teams, contractors, and commissioning agents to ensure quality, compliance, and timely project completion
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Three Phases of Control Quality Control Plan (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up)
  • Lead submittal review and approval processes, ensuring alignment with design intent and performance criteria
  • Schedule and facilitate quality control meetings across all project phases
  • Maintain and control all QA/QC documentation, logs, and reporting systems
  • Establish and enforce testing and inspection procedures for critical systems (MEP, power, cooling, life safety)
  • Oversee inspections and coordinate with third-party testing agencies and owner representatives
  • Track, manage, and drive resolution of deficiencies through a detailed project deficiency log
  • Lead punch list development, execution, and closeout processes
  • Ensure readiness for commissioning, including pre-functional and functional testing support
  • Oversee project closeout deliverables, including O&M manuals, training, and turnover documentation
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on quality performance, risks, and key issues
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams
  • Support hiring, training, and development of QA/QC personnel and inspectors
  • Build relationships with industry professionals and contribute to business development initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 7–10+ years of experience in construction quality control and/or inspection
  • Strong experience in hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and redundancy (N+1, 2N)
  • Proven ability to implement and manage comprehensive QA/QC programs on large-scale projects
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and OSHA requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive results, and maintain high-quality standards under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with major hyperscale clients (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta)
  • Prior experience supporting commissioning processes (Level 1–5, IST)
  • Experience managing QA/QC teams, inspectors, and third-party testing agencies
  • Ability to manage high volumes of submittals, RFIs, and quality documentation
  • Experience developing and executing project-specific Quality Control Plans
  • Background in large-scale construction management or mission-critical trade disciplines
