Overview
A growing advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across its operations. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and strengthening the company’s quality management framework as it expands into aerospace.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both operate strategically and execute tactically. The right person will be comfortable managing audits, maintaining certifications, developing procedures, training team members, and helping build a scalable quality program for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the company’s Quality Management System to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry standards
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on AS9100 compliance, audit readiness, and quality documentation
- Manage internal and external audits and oversee corrective and preventive action processes
- Develop, revise, and implement quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and training materials
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure quality standards are embedded into day-to-day manufacturing activity
- Support inspection processes for incoming materials, in-process work, and finished goods as needed
- Provide training and guidance to quality staff and cross-functional teams on quality requirements and best practices
- Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support quality alignment across multiple operating locations, including coordination with an international manufacturing partner/site
- Help build and scale the quality function as the business grows and wins new customer programs
Qualifications
- Strong experience in quality management within an aerospace industry
- Deep working knowledge of AS9100 and experience maintaining compliance in an audited environment
- Experience preparing for, participating in, and leading audits
- Ability to create, improve, and maintain SOPs, policies, procedures, and related quality documentation
- Comfortable in a hands-on role that requires both program ownership and day-to-day execution
- Strong training and communication skills; able to educate teams and reinforce quality expectations across the business
- Experience with international suppliers, manufacturing partners, or multi-site quality coordination is a plus
- Familiarity with additional regulated standards/frameworks is helpful
Team / Reporting Structure
- This role will work closely with operations leadership, engineering, and executive leadership
- May provide guidance to existing quality personnel and help shape future team structure as the function expands
- Prior people management experience is helpful, but not required
Travel
- Some travel required, including occasional international travel, particularly during onboarding and for ongoing quality coordination
