This role in summary
Our Ottawa Manufacturing team is looking for Quality Inspectors to join our team!
$21.10 per hour
Your responsibilities will include
Capable of identifying BIR products that fail to meet quality expectations – through visual and/or testing inspection and disposal according to the established process
Support improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost, and safety as well as continuous improvement through Kaizen
Must be able to communicate and receive communications regarding safety components and job instruction
Data collection and failure mode root cause analysis of defective units
Liaise with other departments/functions as required to drive change and implement containment and/or corrective actions to mitigate quality defects
Work on a moving/conveyor style production line or stabilized workstation
Ensures that the workstation is kept in a clean and safe condition.
Participate and engage fully in training experiences
Follow all company policies and procedures
Support in recognizing and defining problems, collecting data, and developing conclusions
Utilities may be asked to work outside their designated department
Stack, lift (floor to overhead) and carry up to 40 pounds if required
Other tasks as needed
Minimum requirements
Consistently demonstrates the Whirlpool Values
Strong computer skills including data analysis and chart creation
Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Must be self-motivated and able to lead programs and/or projects independently
Willingness to be hands on
Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize issues and tasks
Have a strong desire for personal and professional development
Must be able to identify problems, analyze root cause and implement solutions that address the root-cause and minimize business risk
Outstanding problem solving skills
Customer focused, team-oriented, and able to drive sustainable business solutions
Must be willing and able to work overtime and have the flexibility to work any shift
Preferred skills and experiences
2+ year engineering/manufacturing experience
WCM (World Class Manufacturing) tool usage and knowledge
Drafting software (Google Workspace)
Blueprint reading
