Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. This is a direct hire opportunity for an experienced quality professional who will oversee and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and customer quality requirements across all departments.
This is a leadership role responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, audits, and a team of quality inspectors to support product excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Interface with customers on all quality-related matters
Oversee and enhance QMS policies/procedures to maintain all certifications
Maintain AS9100 certifications and liaise with 3rd-party registrars
Conduct internal audits and maintain audit documentation
Lead corrective/preventive actions and verify their effectiveness
Monitor and report on internal and external audit non-conformities
Present management reviews of the QMS to senior leadership
Lead problem-solving events and implement process improvements
Develop and execute quality plans that ensure regulatory and customer compliance
Act as the point of contact for regulatory and accrediting bodies
Maintain all regulatory documentation and records
Manage external audits (customer, government, and third-party)
Ensure facility-wide adherence to QMS procedures and best practices
Lead, mentor, and evaluate quality staff to align with performance goals
Oversee inspection processes and risk mitigation activities
Support the development and implementation of project management training programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in quality management (aerospace industry preferred)
Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems
Familiarity with international and aerospace quality standards and implementation
Experience with quality manufacturing systems, defect analysis, and process controls
Skilled in developing and executing audits, CAPA systems, and QMS improvement initiatives
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment with occasional presence in production areas
May require occasional evening and weekend work
