Overview
The Solar Quality Control Inspector plays a vital role in the renewable energy industry by ensuring the quality, performance, and safety of solar power systems. They are responsible for inspecting and assessing solar installations to verify compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Their primary goal is to ensure that solar energy systems are functioning efficiently, effectively, and safely.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive inspections of solar power systems, including photovoltaic (PV) modules, inverters, mounting structures, electrical wiring, and other components.
· Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
· Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and compliance documentation.
· Assess the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship involved in installations. Identify any deviations from the specified standards and ensure that appropriate corrective measures are implemented.
· Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications
Inspector I
o High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrable literacy skills.
o Ability to use digital devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc) to record and transmit information from the field.
o Clean driving record and the ability to be insured.
o Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring tools.
Inspector II
All qualification from Inspector I in addition to the following:
o At least one year of working on commercial/industrial solar projects.
o Experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
o Basic skills using common business software such as MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, etc.
o Exposure to construction blueprints and plans with some ability to understand and extract tolerances and requirements from them.
o Some knowledge solar power systems, components, installation practices, and relevant codes and regulations.
o Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
o Possess OSHA 10 certification.
Inspector III
All qualification from Inspector II in addition to the following:
o Possess OSHA 30 certification.
o Possess a current 1st Aid/CPR certification.
o Possess NFPA 70E certification.
o Ability to describe foundational elements of quality control.
o Strong knowledge of solar power systems, components, installation practices, and relevant codes and regulations.
o Experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in the solar energy industry.
o Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector.
o Advanced communication and conflict resolution skills.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in an outside environment on project; subject to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
· Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights in relation to project requirements and quality control inspection.
