Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Supervises a team of quality technicians/inspectors.
Responsibilities and Duties
Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
Schedule and lead audits for AS 9100 / ISO 9001 QMS (internal, external, & customer)
Coordinate/Manage Root Cause & Corrective Action programs within the company.
Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Coordinate & Participate in Risk Management activities
Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
Minimal travel may be required.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project management experience from idea generation to construction and start-up for projects from $500K to $150MM+ preferred.
Experience synthesizing complex or diverse information and experience with ISO requirements preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, and communicate changes and progress.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures while developing a strategy to achieve organizational goals.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers, vendors, customers, and employees while working well in a group problem solving situations.
