Overview
The Quality Assurance team ensures medical exam documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with VA standards.
We have two main levels: DBQ Reviewer I (entry or mid-level QA) and DBQ Reviewer II (advanced or complex case handling).
Sub-Roles
DBQ Reviewer I: Reviews exam reports, provides feedback, and escalates any quality issues.
DBQ Reviewer II: Handles complex cases, interacts more extensively with providers, and may serve as an escalation point for Reviewer I.
Key Responsibilities
DBQ Reviewer I
Complete QA training program and maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOPs.
Review exam documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Document quality issues and work with medical professionals to correct exam reports.
Escalate advanced or unclear cases to DBQ Reviewer II or QA leadership.
DBQ Reviewer II
Perform all Reviewer I tasks while handling more complex or specialized reviews.
Provide higher-level feedback and collaborate with providers on complex documentation.
Stay informed of policy updates and serve as a mentor to Reviewer I colleagues.
Qualifications
Education:
Reviewer I: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s/Bachelor’s preferred.
Reviewer II: LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) with high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Reviewer I: 5+ years in a medical field (e.g., Corpsman, CMA, scribe) OR 7+ years in healthcare QA.
Reviewer II: Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing LPN.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.
Ability to learn medical documentation software quickly.
Team collaboration with an independent work ethic.
