Summary
The Quality Assurance Senior Specialist Operations conducts branch, call center, and internal audits to determine whether business controls are sufficient and effectively executed in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required or a minimum of eight years directly related experience required
- Minimum four years of financial services and bank operations experience required
- Minimum two years of quality assurance experience required
- Minimum four years cash audit handling experience required
- Knowledge of bank regulatory processes, and procedures required
- Knowledge of operational controls, regulatory reporting, and experience with quality review required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required
- Knowledge of CRM or similar required
- Local travel up to 30%
Job Responsibilities
- Deploys internal controls, best practices, and strategies to identify process deficiencies and implement improvements
- Gathers, analyzes, and consolidates data for required regulatory reporting
- Supports external regulatory and internal audits by coordinating document reviews, protocol reviews, validation reviews, and training programs as part of operations auditing processes
- Tests established procedures to ensure operational efficiency within assigned functional areas and businesses
- Monthly branch audits including review of branch logs, adherence to security protocols and dual control, and reports for completeness and accuracy per policy and procedures
- Performs verification of the accuracy of branch cash, vaults, cashboxes, and recyclers
- Verification and performing branch negotiable items audits
- Completes written assessments and debriefs of branch audit visits for leadership
- Ensures business control activities comply with policies and procedures
- Evaluate functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of systems to achieve established objectives
- Recommends corrective actions and improvements
- Reviews insider accounts, employees and family/household members, tracks and reports violations of the Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policy, or preferential treatment to appropriate levels of management.
- Validates Retail Incentive sales production, makes manual adjustments and develops metric reports
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets data related to policy and procedures, feedback, and operational efficiency
- Maintains a high-quality operational environment in support of analytical, exam, and policy activities; assesses and mitigates risks associated with business lines
- Utilizes data management tools to establish a continuous stream of data to analyze, measure, and evaluate staff behaviors of the Retail Incentive Program
- Create data reporting and metrics to be reviewed with senior leadership
- Monitors risk-management procedures, and maintains and analyzes problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management
- Works with member-facing staff and back office departments to handle operational exceptions by supporting the team with reporting and findings on policy and procedure concerns
- Supports other risk management counterparts on projects, risk evaluations, and mitigation efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

The good faith range for this position is $28.50-$34.15 per hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
