Axios Professional Recruitment is partnering with a growing West Michigan manufacturer to hire a Quality Assurance Specialist. This individual will play a key role in maintaining product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate has quality assurance experience in an FDA-regulated environment and enjoys working in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
• Complete and maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and compliance logs.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF standards, USDA Organic requirements, and FDA regulations.
• Train team members on food safety procedures and quality standards.
• Support corrective action initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collect and manage product samples for laboratory testing, product development, and retention.
• Inspect products, equipment, and production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including SQF, Organic, and Kosher certifications.
• Promote a safe, quality-focused culture across the production team.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred.
• 3+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing or food processing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a GFSI-certified facility (SQF, BRC, AIB, or similar) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Positive attitude with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
