The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and other Quality Assurance Program requirements are consistently achieved with a sense of urgency at the facility. In addition, the candidate is responsible for ensuring a safe, cost effective and service-oriented department, while providing Values-Based Leadership at the facility.
Summary:
Work with Production in the Plant, monitoring the lines to ensure that all products are produced to meet all food safety and quality requirements, and all employees are following GMPs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and provide guidance to the production employees in the plant
Review paperwork from the Plant, including Daily Packing Report and Knife hook Scraper…record
Carry out verifications as required, e.g. on CCPs, metal detectors, and on-site evaluations to evaluate training
Help to set up and calibrate the metal detectors
Ensure all specifications, procedures and Food Safety and Quality Systems (HACCP and BRC) are up to date and followed in the Plant
Constant monitoring of the GMP and Allergen Prevention programs
Report any food safety or quality issues to the QA Supervisor, QA/HACCP Coordinator and/or Food Safety and Quality Manager
Train staff on a regular basis ensure that all are trained in the roles they are performing
Responsible for placing products on Hold as required, and releasing product
Making sure all information for Traverse is entered and FIFO is being followed on raw materials
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
High school graduate: third level education an advantage, but not essential as extensive training provided
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure is a must
Experience working in the food industry and advantage
Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) systems an advantage
Experience with BRC and advantage
Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel
Good communication skills, team oriented and able to work independently
Adaptable and flexible
