We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist for our client company located in Britt, IA. The key role for the QA Specialist is to ensure that products consistently meet the highest standards of Food Safety and Quality. You will also take charge of implementing, monitoring, and refining quality programs across all departments. Your expertise will be key in mentoring teams, driving compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Food Safety and Food Quality of products.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs & HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Follow USDA, FSIS, FDA, Customer and company guidelines.
Designated back-up SQF Practitioner for the facility.
Familiar with or the ability to become familiar with the Redzone food safety and food quality compliance modules and will be the designated Redzone champion for the facility.
Use SAP to access and print product, material and ingredient specifications, and product label graphics.
Assist in training production employees on food safety & food quality requirements to ensure company standards are being met. Foster open communication and a good attitude towards work and fellow employees.
Review Quality records daily and report any deficiencies to the FSQ Supervisor and/or FSQ Manager, and provide follow-up action as needed.
Provide COAs to all customers requesting finished product test results and notify drivers of release of product (SSL Tankers only).
Keep accurate and complete documentation of work performed and results of any testing done.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience working in a food safety environment and/or in quality control is preferred.
Experience with monitoring standards, preferably in a food safety environment.
HACCP Certification or ability to obtain HACCP certification within 6 months (at the cost of the company).
Ability to read, comprehend, write and communicate in English.
Ability to do basic math equations using whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
