Job Summary
This position is responsible to ensure that the Columbia Tech Manufacturing Operations produces product with the utmost efficiency the lowest defect rates. In addition, the incumbent will assist the production floor and our customer base dealing with issues resulting and non-conformances.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design or Redesign manufacturing production flow and optimize to reduce defects.
Provide floor support, to ensure processes are optimal and resolve documentation conflicts.
Provide customer support solving problems.
Provide Quality Reviews and respond to customer using 8D CAPA system.
Drive quality levels up as measured by the customer.
Drive improvement of Columbia Tech quality through root cause analysis of discrepancies.
Propose, review and implement approved corrective actions reducing overall Corrective Actions and customer quality notice activity.
Assist inspection by developing Quality Inspection Plans (QAF) and thus prevent customer issues.
Work with assembly, production and test to identify trends and take corrective actions.
Determine root cause of customer issues. Correct issues on the production floor or with a supplier.
Promptly respond to manufacturing floor quality issues, taking appropriate action within quality system and continually building strong rapport with customers.
Assist in the training of personnel, including customers and suppliers on workmanship and quality standards.
Assure all outgoing product (from CT) is manufactured according to Quality Procedures, including accurate documentation and prompt reporting to management of discrepancies.
Qualifications
BSME or BSEE and 8-10 years in a production environment (CM preferred).
Knowledge/ Familiarity of IPC-620 and IPC- 610.
Practical Assembly and DFM knowledge.
Working knowledge of production Quality Tools: PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans Gage R&R, SPC.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing. Be able to lead efforts.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 13485.
Demonstrate accomplishments with Process and Yield Improvements
Must possess superior communication skills, both verbal and written and computer based.
Must possess strong mechanical orientation.
Working Environment
Generally works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. Physical Requirements.
Must have a reliable form of transportation and ability to travel to other company locations.
