About Role:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to inspect incoming SKD (Semi Knocked Down) kits for CCTV Cameras and DashCams at supplier facilities in Shenzhen, China. The primary responsibility is to conduct random sample inspections, assemble and test sample units, evaluate product quality against defined standards, and determine whether each production lot should be accepted (Pass) or rejected (Fail).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Randomly select samples from each production lot in accordance with the approved sampling plan/AQL requirements to ensure an unbiased inspection.
  • Conduct sample inspections of incoming SKD kits for CCTV Cameras and DashCams against approved product specifications and quality standards.
  • For each production lot, randomly draw 50 sets of SKD kits and assemble 50 units strictly as per the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Perform functional, visual, and performance testing of the assembled units to verify compliance with product specifications and quality requirements.
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations in components, assembly, functionality, packaging, labeling, and workmanship.
  • Determine the acceptance status of each lot (Pass/Fail) based on the inspection results and established AQL/quality criteria.
  • After completion of inspection and testing, carefully disassemble the 50 sample units back into individual SKD components and repack them correctly for shipment as parts, ensuring no damage or loss of components.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including sample size, observations, photographs, test results, defect analysis, and Pass/Fail recommendations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to communicate inspection findings and follow up on corrective and preventive actions where required.
  • Escalate critical quality issues to the company’s Quality and Procurement teams.
  • Ensure all inspections, assembly, testing, disassembly, and reporting activities are completed within the agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Chinese electronics manufacturers or EMS suppliers.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Good communication skills in English. Mandarin language skills will be an added advantage.

Additional Qualification / Preferred Skill

  • Working knowledge of IPC standards applicable to Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), with the ability to identify common soldering, assembly, and workmanship defects during inspection.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and IPC J-STD-001 is preferred.
  • Ability to inspect PCBAs for solder joint quality, component placement, polarity, cleanliness, and other workmanship requirements in accordance with applicable IPC standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Quality Inspection or Quality Assurance, preferably in CCTV Cameras, DashCams, consumer electronics, or electronic products.
  • Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of electronic products.
  • Good understanding of SKD/CKD manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of AQL sampling methods and quality inspection techniques.
  • Ability to identify cosmetic, functional, and assembly defects.
  • Experience in preparing professional inspection reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Timely completion of inspections and testing.
  • Accurate random sampling in accordance with the approved inspection plan.
  • Accuracy of Pass/Fail decisions.
  • Quality and completeness of inspection reports.
  • Successful assembly, testing, disassembly, and repacking of 50 randomly selected sample units per lot without component damage or loss.
  • Reduction in defective material received at the destination.
  • Effective communication and follow-up with suppliers.
