Job Description
The QA Engineer is a key member of the Global Research and Development Team. The Quality Assurance Engineer develops quality plans that ensure that the requirements of the system are completely tested, that the overall quality of the system can be assured and that best practices for quality are followed.
As a QA Engineer you will be expected to design and implement test cases, plans and scripts that result in high quality, well documented products. You will be required to meet all quality standards for your project. You will be expected to provide accurate scoring and/or work effort estimations, risk assessments and participate in schedule development.
QA Engineers may be asked to lead improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and increase R&D effectiveness. This includes performing quality audits, design audits, and leading group projects. In addition to your QA responsibilities, you will liaise with other Carestream Dental teams, including Technical Support, Documentation, Product Line Management, and Conversions. You may be required to lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis efforts, working directly with customers to diagnose and fix product performance issues.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain test plans, cases, scripts, and automation for all layers of application testing
Execute various levels and types of testing such as smoke, functional, compatibility, integration, performance, and regression tests (manual and automated)
Identify, research, and document bugs; suggesting possible resolutions and root causes
Contribute to process improvement efforts related to all aspects of software quality assurance to reduce defects and quality issues
Install and control various test configurations and environments
Apply independence and creativity to problem solving across project assignments
Create accurate, thoughtful, and comprehensive defect reports
Investigate customer problems referred by technical support
Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function

Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
3+ years of QA activities in a business environment
Experience with Agile Development
Experience testing web and mobile applications
Experience testing desktop applications for Microsoft Windows OS
Experience using virtualization (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure VM)
Experience using Azure Devops
Competent in using digital tools both remotely and face to face.
Proficiency to use all advanced IT tools and software provided by CSD.
Make practical and effective use of new technology and social media
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask
Ability to successfully work in virtual teams/environments.
Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and situations.
Effective and clear communication
Ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines
Desired:
3+ years of Hands-on experience with automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Visual test, JMeter or other automation tools)
Experience with API level testing using tools such as SAOP
Experience in an onshore (onsite and remote) and offshore team environment is plus
Strong business sense and dental industry expertise
