POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist with continuous quality improvement and identification of quality issues related to product manufacturing by monitoring quality through statistical entry and analysis; recommending improvements to the formulating chemists based on the statistical information; performing laboratory testing to assure that established specifications of incoming raw materials and outgoing products are met; and recommendation of proper corrective action when indicated.
REPORTS TO:
Quality Assurance Technician reports directly to Technical Director.
Qualifications:
- At least a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and relevant job specific training, determined by the Company.
Duties:
1. Assure all incoming raw materials are within proper specifications by either supplier literature review or testing.
2. Assure all outgoing products are within established specifications by testing and adjustments.
3. Assist in identifying quality issues that promote continuous improvement throughout the company.
4. Enter QA test data to determine first pass percentage. Use the data to also determine the product, lot and test(s) for batches that are not within specifications.
5. Monitor the monthly first time pass percentage.
6. Determine which products are routinely problematic; coordinate with Production and PSG to resolve the root cause and implement a corrective action.
7. Identify non-essential/inaccurate QA tests/specifications and suggest corrective action.
8. Store and maintain retain samples for the required time. When indicated, follow the retain procedure to dispose of retain samples.
9. Fill in customer’s Certificates of Analysis.
10. Clean and maintain the QA area.
11. Calibrate and maintain all equipment (including both final and in process) used in quality assurance testing.
12. Inventory lab materials, shipping and storage containers, boxes and reagents
13. Fill orders from customer service for testing supplies.
14. Remake, test, and record indicators and titration solutions as needed.
Assemble MCC test kits (print labels, fill and cap droppers, label droppers and box).
Occasional Duties :
1. Develop new test kits as requested by customer or sales representative.
2. Input new test kit information in Chempax and make new labels.
