QUALITY DOCUMENT SPECIALIST
Job Title: Quality Document Specialist | Department: Quality | Reports to: Quality Lead | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Document Specialist will store, manage, and track records and documents for United Precision Corp. This position requires a hands-on individual capable of working on and monitoring many tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will perform daily Quality Department document assembly and maintain the Document Control System, including activities on document approval and release, maintenance of archival records, maintenance drawings, and all related activities to document information traceability. You will need to be detail-oriented and highly motivated to complete tasks. You will use computer software programs to check contracts for accuracy and manage vital information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs quality assurance and quality control of engineering documents
Ensures document transmittals by others are accurate and complete
Work with management to ensure documented information is maintained and preserved from damage
Create and review data packages
Ability to read and understand Traveler Documents (job orders)
Ability to perform steps for each process – purchase materials, send out for process, raw material needs, certifications, ensure certifications are present, conform to what is requested, verify certifications are present
Performs administrative duties in support of the Documentation department
Must have a working knowledge of MRP System
The ability to understand general engineering documents is a plus
Organized work habits and the ability to multi-task required
Assess incoming product lots for compliance with specification requirements
Alerts management of significant quality, compliance, supply, and safety risks
Assist with the acceptance of P.O.’s, make sure that correct Mil Spec references are listed, and that any drawings needed are attached
Trace and document material certs for orders as needed
Maintain and update department documentation, processes, and procedures
Create customer certifications for completed orders
Perform other duties as assigned, supporting various departments as needed
WHAT YOU BRING TO UPC:
Proficient in general computer and documentation skills
Excellent knowledge of general office equipment and skills, especially filing and typing
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
2 or more years of relevant experience
1 or more years of relevant manufacturing industry experience
Preferred
An engineering degree or aerospace experience is a plus
3 or more years of quality document experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing
SAP Experience or similar ERP
Experience with AS9100 and ISO9001
Experience with ITAR Compliance

Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
Must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculators, copy machines, and printers.
Must be able to operate manufacturing and engineering machinery such as lapping, CNC lathe, milling machines, etc.
Occasionally positions self to maintain manufacturing and engineering machinery, including under workstations.
Frequently move raw and treated materials weighing up to 50 pounds across the manufacturing facility for various purposes, as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in an office/warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special coordination beyond those used for normal mobility, handling of everyday objects and materials, and using office equipment is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour, DOE.
