What to Expect
Tesla is seeking Quality Technicians to join our team here at the Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada. This role will focus on ensuring the highest standards of product quality within fast-paced manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, an eye for detail, and experience in quality control systems. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams, engineers, and suppliers to identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions, all while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Perform inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
Analyze root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions and countermeasures
Work with cross functional teams to maintain quality standards and resolve manufacturing quality issues
Manage non-conforming materials by containing, sorting, and disposing of them according to protocols
Support continuous improvement activities and provide feedback to engineering for process and design optimizations
Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test data, and contribute to PFMEA and control plan activities
Maintain clear documentation on quality performance and escalate unresolved issues to relevant teams
What You’ll Bring
Experience in a high volume manufacturing or automotive quality assurance environment
Proficiency with quality systems (QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA) and tools (e.g., calipers, torque wrenches, micrometers)
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings (GD&T knowledge preferred)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools (Minitab, SQL, Python)
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and lift or move parts up to 30 pounds
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing PPE when necessary
