Duties
- Conduct detailed inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensional accuracy and mechanical blueprint compliance.
- Perform comprehensive quality audits in accordance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory and legal standards.
- Utilize vision inspection systems and other advanced measurement tools to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities in manufactured products.
- Interpret production documents, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to accurately assess product specifications and quality standards in production.
- Collect and analyze data related to quality metrics, conducting root cause analysis to identify areas for process improvement.
- Support manufacturing teams by providing guidance on quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols.
- Lead or participate in regular quality audits, document findings meticulously, and implement corrective actions to uphold ISO standards and internal quality management systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of quality systems such as QA/QC processes.
- Proficiency with calibration and use of measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, vision inspection systems, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, and regulatory/legal compliance standards relevant to manufacturing industries.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analysis skills for data collection, defect investigation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Calypso software or similar quality management tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
