What this job is all about:

The Quality Control Technician 1 is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, ingredients, in-process sauce, finished sauce, and industrial ingredients by performing laboratory tests, compiling records, analyzing data, and performing Quality Control checks throughout all stages and areas of production and storage.

In this job, you’ll do things like:

Performs laboratory tests of incoming bulk vinegar, incoming mash and raw materials, in-process sauce, finished sauce, and industrial ingredients to determine physical or chemical properties to ensure compliance with company and governmental agency standards; operates GC/MS equipment; performs APC swabbing.
Collects samples that are requested to be shipped.
Maintains accurate recordkeeping of analysis data.
Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment and instruments.
Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines.
Organizes, cleans, sterilizes, and maintains laboratory equipment.
Communicates quality or compliance concerns with urgency to Operations management.
Releases finished sauce for bottling.
Performs blending and bottling floor checks to ensure control on non-conforming products.
Performs inspections and enforces all McIlhenny Company standards and policies across all stages of production.
Ensures product and process compliance to company standards and specifications.
Identifies areas for quality control improvement.
Monitors and documents process controls to ensure product quality and food safety standards are within control limits and plant standards.
Participates in monthly GMP audits and other internal audits as assigned; perform 5S Audits.
Ensures materials are stored according to specifications.
Flags damaged pallets to alert logistics personnel.
Ensures proper cataloging for materials from production placed in defect area.
