Position/Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician (Quality Control Inspector)

Status: Full-Time, Contingent Upon Contract Award

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000

Background: Vectrona is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician (Quality Control Inspector) to support quality assurance oversight for U.S. Navy maintenance and modernization contracts. This position is responsible for ensuring contractor compliance with contract requirements through surveillance, inspections, audits, and quality reviews. The successful candidate will evaluate work specifications, analyze quality data, develop performance metrics, and provide detailed reports and recommendations to support government quality assurance efforts while ensuring compliance with NAVSEA standards and applicable industry regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Review contract work specifications to verify quality assurance requirements are clearly defined and properly incorporated into maintenance and repair activities.
  • Develop and execute product, process, and contractor surveillance, inspection, and audit plans.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to evaluate contractor compliance with contract requirements and applicable standards.
  • Document inspection and audit results, prepare formal findings, and provide written feedback to contractor quality organizations.
  • Maintain databases of inspection, surveillance, and audit results to support trend analysis and continuous process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain quality matrices, performance metrics, graphs, dashboards, and written reports using Microsoft Office Suite and U.S. Navy proprietary software.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, deficiencies, and opportunities for corrective and preventive action.
  • Ensure compliance with NAVSEA Standard Items, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) requirements, contract specifications, and applicable military and industry quality standards.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, contractors, and quality organizations to resolve quality issues and support successful contract execution.

Preferred Education/Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • Five (5) additional years of relevant quality engineering, systems engineering, or statistical analysis experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing work specification reviews in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) 4E specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting U.S. Navy quality assurance, ship maintenance, or ship repair programs.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Navy contract clauses, ship specifications, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience applying ANSI, ISO, ASQ, ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, military specifications, industrial standards, and contract drawings.
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding, ship repair, and associated industrial techniques and practices.
  • Experience developing quality metrics, trend analyses, and management reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with U.S. Navy quality management software and databases.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with government personnel, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
