Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician/Research Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring product quality and supporting continuous improvement efforts within our Stayton Plant. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, testing raw materials and finished goods, documenting findings, and assisting with product research and development initiatives. The QA Technician/Research Assistant collaborates with production teams, engineering, and leadership to maintain compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides support to the QA Supervisor/Plant Technical Director (PTD) with research projects, improving product quality and process control
Conduct research projects under the QA Supervisor/PTD
Design and generate detailed technical reports
Tests incoming raw materials for compliance to the manufacturing standards.
Tests RedLam and Red-I Joists samples for compliance to the Manufacturing Standard.
Acts as an expert resource for Manufacturing Standard specifications to the plant.
Monitors current processes with an eye for potential improvements.
Inputs process quality data into various computer databases located at the plant.
Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong data analysis and computer skills (e.g. Excel, database familiarity, Python)
Preferred associate degree or 2 years certified trade school
Self-motivated, able to complete technical projects with little supervision.
Math and statistics skills/understanding
Continuous learner
Excellent attendance.
Physically able to manipulate heavy and/or awkward test material/equipment.
Familiarity using hand and power tools.
Detail oriented person.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience in a lab
Project management experience
Any experience in computer programming
Understanding of ISO9001

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.70/Hour + $1.50 Graveyard shift differential
Shifts/Hours: Graveyard Shift, Monday – Friday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
