Testing Lead – Oracle Cloud ERP Implementation (Higher Education)
Position Summary
The Testing Lead will be part of the Business and Digital Transformation Office (BDTO), reporting to the Senior Project Manager who supports the delivery of the institution's ERP transformation initiative. In this role, the Testing Lead will provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for all testing activities associated with the transition from SAP to Oracle Cloud.
Working in close partnership with the Implementation Partner's Testing Lead, as well as collaborating with business stakeholders, functional and technical teams, project leadership, system integrators, and third-party vendors, the Testing Lead will be responsible for executing the overall testing strategy and ensuring the quality and successful delivery of Oracle Cloud applications, integrations, and related business processes.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience leading testing programs for Oracle Cloud implementations within complex enterprise environments. They will have a demonstrated track record managing end-to-end testing cycles, including unit testing, configuration testing, system integration testing, retrofit testing, parallel payroll testing, and production readiness validation, ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and are ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Strategy & Leadership
- Execute and maintain the overall testing strategy, framework, methodology, and governance structure for the Oracle Cloud implementation.
- Adhere to the developed testing scope, objectives, entry/exit criteria, environments, schedules, and resource requirements across all testing phases.
- Lead testing planning and execution across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deployment timelines.
- Establish testing standards, defect management processes, reporting metrics, and quality assurance controls.
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across Oracle Cloud modules and integrated systems.
- Review and validate test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and test data requirements.
- Coordinate testing activities across business, functional, technical, integration, and third-party vendor teams.
Defect & Quality Management
- Establish and manage defect triage processes.
- Monitor the defect lifecycle from identification through resolution and retesting.
- Facilitate defect review meetings and prioritize issue remediation activities.
- Analyze testing results and identify areas requiring process improvements or additional testing.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business process owners, subject matter experts, Oracle Cloud functional leads, technical teams, and system integrators.
- Support business users during test preparation and execution.
- Provide guidance and training on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Facilitate workshops and testing readiness reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of ERP testing lead experience, including at least 3 years leading Oracle Cloud implementation testing.
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud applications, including one or more of the following:
- Oracle Cloud ERP
- Oracle Cloud HCM
- Oracle Payroll
- Oracle Financials
- Oracle Procurement
- Experience with data conversion and migration validation testing.
- Strong knowledge of defect management and testing lifecycle methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting Oracle Cloud implementations within higher education institutions.
- Experience with SAP-to-Oracle Cloud migration programs.
- Knowledge of higher education business processes and administrative systems.
- Experience working with system integrators and multi-vendor implementation teams.
