About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Test Lead to drive the testing phase across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality software delivery and seamless integrations. This role is pivotal in establishing robust testing processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful test execution.

✔️ Energy Trade Risk Management Project – Ensuring reliability and compliance in energy trading applications.
✔️ Field Mobile Project – Modernizing a legacy GIS tool for field workers, improving functionality and user experience.
We are not seeking a Test Lead with expertise in just one area; rather, we need someone adaptable who can contribute across multiple initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Test Lead, you will take full ownership of the testing phase in project cycles, ensuring structured and comprehensive test execution. You will:
Develop and execute test plans – Define the overall strategy and establish clear objectives for unit testing, component testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Collaborate with stakeholders – Work closely with project managers, business units, and vendors to align testing efforts with project goals.
Lead test case creation – Engage with the team to design, document, and manage test cases for optimal test coverage.
Build and maintain test schedules – Define timelines, allocate resources, and track progress to ensure timely execution.
Facilitate testing execution – Guide team members through test cycles, ensuring adherence to the established plan while troubleshooting issues.
Report on test progress – Provide updates to project managers, highlighting key findings, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Team Structure & Support
You’ll be part of the Operations IT Team, working alongside two other Test Leads. This role is being added due to growth, so you will step into an established, collaborative environment. You will report to a Project Manager, who in turn reports to the Program Manager.
We understand that ramp-up time is necessary. You’ll be paired with an experienced Test Lead and work closely with project managers to ensure a smooth transition into your role.
What We’re Looking For
✅ 7-9+ years of QA/testing experience, with several years as a Test Lead
✅ Strong background in software testing, particularly with software integrations (off-the-shelf product experience is beneficial)
✅ Experience working in large corporate environments (utility industry experience is NOT required)
✅ Proficiency in Waterfall methodologies – While Agile is common, many of our systems still benefit from Waterfall approaches
✅ Excellent communication and collaboration skills – Ability to engage with business partners, project teams, and vendors
✅ Proactive mindset – Someone who takes initiative, stays accountable, and maintains transparency in their work
✅ Positive attitude and adaptability – A team player who fosters a supportive, solution-oriented environment
Preferred Tools & Technologies:
JIRA & Confluence – Experience using these for test case management and documentation is highly valued.
What We Avoid in Candidates
Limited experience in large corporate environments
Frequent job hopping (though we understand that this can be common in contract roles)
Education & Travel
Bachelor’s degree preferred
✈️ Minimal travel – Potential workshops may require occasional travel.
