Quality Assurance Tester
Civix is seeking to hire an experienced Quality Assurance Tester to join our Grants Management team. Civix has a web-based Grants Management software product that is used by Emergency Management Agencies in the United States to manage Federal and State Grant money related to disaster recovery work. The Grants Management team maintains, enhances, implements and supports this Grants Management software product.
The Grants Management Team has a need to expand its product testing capacity, enhance the depth of testing and measure the quality of the software development lifecycle process from requirements gathering to live deployment.
General Responsibilities
Perform testing activities on bug resolutions to ensure bugs are fully resolved.
Perform testing activities within specific timelines on new features and functionality to ensure they meet the business requirements.
Develop testing strategies, test cases, and test documentation.
Make recommendations on testing tools and testing approaches.
Assist with strategies to measure quality throughout the entire software lifecycle from requirements gathering to Live deployment.
Recommend metrics to help measure the quality of the product and the process.
Assist with data collection for measuring quality improvements.
Become intimately familiar with all aspects of the Grants Management Software.
Provide documentation of test results. Ensure reproduction steps are elaborated so that programmers can reproduce and fix issues.
Ensure bugs are logged and flagged properly.
Engage in continuous improvement of the QA process.
Documenting of testing activities and processes.
Document test cases and testing steps so other team members can perform testing.
Operate independently in a fast paced and demanding work environment where strong organization and multitasking skills are required.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Must have experience with testing custom off the shelf software that requires customization
Proven work experience as a Software Tester and/or Analyst for custom software implementations
Testing experience and experience facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Not just track tasks from a high level but get down in the details, understand problems and propose solutions
Must be located within Canada or the United States
Minimum 5 years of experience in manual testing experience
Education/Certification
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
Testing/ QA Certification (Asset)
