SUMMARY

Under the direction of the QA manager, QA supervisor, or QA Lead, the QA Technician is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of quality initiatives at Jain Farm Fresh Foods Inc., Frozen Ingredients Division (JFFFI, FID) as well as providing quality support for production and manufacturing departments. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of physical and chemical analytical methods and equipment (food product and /or food ingredient testing desirable). Responsibilities include performing analytical measurements on samples, logging and reporting results, as well as general lab, equipment, and supplies maintenance and coordination. QA Technicians perform a variety of routine tasks to quality and sensory attributes in compliance with WOFF/customer standards by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform and document quality sampling, inspection, physical and organoleptic attributes of raw material, work in progress and finish product according to SOPs.
Primary focus will be to conduct routine food chemistry analyses and physical measurements, including but not limited to: pH, magnet monitoring, moisture/solid, brix, organoleptic on raw, in processed and finished products.
Must undergo GMP and HACCP training and maintain a conscious awareness of personnel, equipment and quality food safety measures at all times.
Notifying production lead and/or supervisor of non-conforming product, placing said product on hold as needed
Housekeeping
Monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and record results.
Must have basic computers skills and be comfortable using a tablet.

COMPETENCIES

High school diploma or equivalent required; manufacturing, laboratory and quality experience preferred
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to stand / walk for 6 to 8 hours per shift
Basic math skills and computer literacy
Completes work accurately, precisely, truthfully and in timely manner
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Self-motivated, able to work independently
Professional attitude, good attendance and time management.
Demonstrate accurate and thorough quality work and informed decision-making process that incorporates concern for quality, safety and security

Must complete training as specified by the Company. Hearing protection or other PPE may be required when performing certain job functions. Employee must utilize mechanical aids (or assistance of a co-worker) to lift and / or move objects over 50 pounds.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Safety Commitment: All personnel are responsible for food safety, food defense and are required to report any food safety risks immediately to their supervisor. All personnel are required to attend Food Safety training annually.
Food Quality commitment: All personnel are committed to established quality objectives and met customer quality result.
