Job Purpose

The QA SDET will work with a cross-cultural team spanning onshore and offshore to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks, ensuring the quality and reliability of applications through seamless API and third-party service integration.

Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an individual contributor within a highly skilled engineering team, responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of applications in the US mortgage domain through test automation, API testing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated and self-starting, should have a proactive approach to resolving issues and working with limited supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn new testing tools/technology and implement it effectively

Job Specification / Skills and Competencies

Scalable UI Automation: Architect, scale, and maintain a highly modular end-to-end testing framework from scratch using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.

Robust API Testing: Design and execute programmatic API testing strategies using Playwright's native API capabilities and Postman for functional, integration, and contract testing.

Framework Optimization: Implement industry-standard design patterns (e.g., Page Object Model, Component-Driven Testing) ensuring asynchronous execution, optimal locator strategies, and minimal test flakiness.

Test Data Management: Build utilities for dynamic test data generation, teardown, and state management across multiple environmentsManage

Performance & Load Testing: Author, configure, and execute distributed load and stress tests using Apache JMeter to identify system bottlenecks, latencies, and architectural weak points.

Shift-Left Security: Integrate automated security scanning and static analysis tools into the build pipeline to catch vulnerabilities prior to deployment.

Monitoring & Metrics: Implement comprehensive reporting dashboards (e.g., Allure, Playwright HTML reports) to provide engineering leadership with crystal-clear visibility

Test Case Design & Execution: Design detailed test cases and scenarios based on business requirements, ensuring that they cover all critical functionalities and edge cases.

Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools like JIRA or Bugzilla, ensuring all issues are clearly reported, managed, and resolved.

Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand system requirements and review the design, contributing valuable feedback from a testing perspective.

Continuous Integration and Version Control: Collaborate on continuous integration practices using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, and work with version control systems such as Git for source code management.

Problem-Solving and Communication: Demonstrate strong debugging skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to team members and stakeholders.

Domian Expertise: Hands-on experience testing applications within the US Mortgage domain is mandatory.

Expected to have good communication and experience in working directly with US based customers.

Preferred Location: Anywhere within the United States. Candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.
