Are you a QA rockstar with a deep understanding of payment systems and a knack for untangling ambiguous test plans? We’re looking for a seasoned QA Tester to join a high-impact, fast-paced project focused on testing Android-based payment terminals for one of Canada’s leading tech innovators.
This is not your typical button-clicking QA role. We need someone who’s comfortable diving into the deep end — interpreting loosely defined requirements, navigating complex payment flows, and validating real-world transaction types in verticals like hospitality and restaurants.
What You’ll Do:
Execute a high-volume test plan covering core and edge-case payment scenarios
Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing on Android-based payment devices
Validate transaction types tailored to specific industries (hospitality, restaurants, etc.)
Translate vague or high-level test cases into clear, actionable steps
Analyze issues, trace logs, and document findings with precision
Partner closely with the project lead to ensure nothing falls through the cracks—even when documentation is less than perfect
What You Bring:
5+ years of QA experience in enterprise or embedded tech environments
Hands-on experience with payment systems, exception handling, and transaction flows
Comfortable testing Android applications (especially on physical terminals or hardware)
Ability to self-direct and troubleshoot when test plans are ambiguous or incomplete
Confidence working with client-authored or unstructured test artifacts
Industry-specific knowledge in POS systems, restaurants, or hospitality is a major plus
