BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist. This is a full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist at BVA Bear’s IT Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of financial systems within an Agile development environment. Working closely with and reporting to the Quality Assurance Lead, you will focus on validating system functionality, financial data integrity, and compliance requirements, with a strong emphasis on financial system migrations, particularly migrating financial data from SAGE to Microsoft Dynamics 365. You will collaborate with the QA Lead to implement and execute automated and manual testing strategies to support compliance with WCAG, Section 508, and GASB financial validation standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct automated and manual testing to validate system functionality and financial data accuracy, particularly in financial system migrations.
Perform regression testing to ensure no defects are introduced after system updates or migrations.
Work with the Quality Assurance Lead to develop and refine testing strategies, ensuring best practices are followed.
Utilize Azure DevOps, Selenium, and Power BI to automate test cases and streamline quality assurance processes.
Support compliance testing, including WCAG, Section 508, and GASB financial validation.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy during and after financial system migrations, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts in Agile sprints to refine acceptance criteria and test requirements.
Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution with development teams.
Assist the Quality Assurance Lead in designing and executing test plans, scripts, and scenarios to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Provide recommendations for improving testing methodologies and tools to enhance quality assurance.
Validate system security, role-based access controls (RBAC), and financial reporting accuracy post-migration.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance testing, software testing, or financial system migrations.
Strong knowledge of Agile development processes and best practices in test automation.
Experience working with test automation tools such as Selenium and Azure DevOps.
Proven experience in financial system migrations, particularly migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Familiarity with financial validation and compliance testing, including GASB regulations.
Understanding of accessibility testing, including WCAG and Section 508 compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional Agile teams.
Excellent communication skills to present testing results and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of SQL for database testing and data validation.
ISTQB certification or Agile testing certifications (e.g., Certified Agile Tester, SAFe Practitioner).
Experience with Power Automate for test process enhancements.
