Galasso’s Bakery, a Certified Women-Owned Business, is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead. The position reports to the Food Safety & QA Manager. The QA Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process within the bakery production environment. The role involves ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, in compliance with food safety regulations and internal protocols. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and effective team management in a fast-paced production facility.
Position Expectations :
Consults with the Food Safety & Quality manager on a daily basis.
Provides support in planning, developing and maintaining QA programs, procedures, objectives, guidelines, and standards for monitoring and reporting food safety.
Monitor and maintain the bakery’s quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the production floor to ensure adherence to cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
Assists in maintaining comprehensive QA documentation including supplier specifications, company specifications, company policy/procedures, customer requirements/reports, stock recovery, in-plant reports and computer applications.
Develop, implement, and revise QA processes to improve product quality and efficiency.
Education, Skills and Knowledge Required :
Minimum 3-5 years QA experience required (preferably in the food industry); familiar with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
Scientific background strongly recommended
Degree in related field preferred
Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
