Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Quality Inspector and become a vital player in optimizing production operations! The Quality Control position is responsible for inspecting materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet company and customer quality specifications. This role performs measurements, tests, and visual inspections, documents results, and identifies non-conforming product to support the organization’ s quality management system.
Duties
- Performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections of parts and materials using standard measuring tools and equipment.
- Verifies parts and products conform to blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Documents inspection results, test data, and non-conformances accurately and completely.
- Identifies and segregates non-conforming material, tagging and routing it in accordance with established procedures.
- Assists in root-cause investigation and corrective action activities for quality issues.
- Calibrates, maintains, and cares for inspection tools and gauges, ensuring measurement accuracy.
- Communicates quality issues to production, engineering, and quality management as needed.
- Supports internal audits and customer/quality system audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) as needed.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe inspection work area.
- Follows all safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of quality inspection methods, measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges), and blueprint reading.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Basic knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting quality issues.
- Basic computer skills for quality data entry and reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on conformance decisions.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or quality-related certification a plus.
- One to three years of experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing role required.
- Experience with GD&T and precision measuring equipment preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods while conducting inspections on the production floor.
- Ability to sit at a workstation to document inspection results and complete quality records.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds (e.g., parts, fixtures, gauges).
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) in production areas.
- Visual acuity, including color perception, sufficient to detect surface and dimensional defects.
- Manual dexterity to use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
