Position: Quality Control Analytical Chemist I – Eurofins CDMO Alphora, Inc.
Eurofins CDMO Alphora is looking for a dynamic Quality Control Analytical Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, a strong team player, comfortable in a modern laboratory setting, possess practical experience with HPLC, GC, KF and wet chemistry techniques, detail‑oriented, organized, able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and have a comprehensive understanding of cGMP.
Key Responsibilities
- Test raw materials, in‑process controls, intermediates and finished products in support of cGMP manufacturing operations.
- Interpret and report all test results, tabulate data and generate reports as required.
- Identify OOS results and assist in their investigation.
- Maintain lab compliance by performing calibration checks and performance verifications of laboratory equipment.
- Work in accordance with established cGMP and safety requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Instrument experience: HPLC, GC, GC/Headspace, IR, KF and wet chemistry techniques; practical experience with these techniques is required.
- Experience with GCMS, LCMS, Ion Chromatography or other techniques is an asset.
- Diploma or degree in chemistry or related field; relevant work experience in an analytical laboratory or regulated environment is an asset.
- Excellent documentation, communication, problem‑solving, planning and organizational skills.
- Self‑managed with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
- Position based in a laboratory environment, requiring significant time standing at a bench or sitting at a computer.
- Lab operates 24/7; rotating shifts are required.
- Extra hours and weekends may be required; shift and overtime premiums are provided.
- Travel between buildings on campus may be necessary; valid driver’s licence and vehicle access preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting annual base compensation for this position is $58,000 CAD. An overall offer—reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits—will be determined by factors such as experience and skill level.
