We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Assistant to join our manufacturing team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Must be able to arrive at work on time each workday, and able to work a full 8-hour shift within the normal working hours specified (currently 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM). Overtime hours may be available with advance notice
- Understand, comply with and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
- Responsible for any 5-S initiatives relative to this position
- Identify and document manufacturing quality problems related to welding or painting (can be
- taught regarding specific welding and painting criteria)
- Demonstrable skills using steel tape measures, steel rulers, calipers, etc.
- Understand English and Metric measurement systems
- Have the skills and knowledge to interpret the standards and specifications that are provided
- Ability to understand basic drawings, and schematic diagrams
- Use checklists to evaluate products or materials at specific stages in the production process for a variety of qualities including dimensions, functional performance, visual and mechanical characteristics
- Complete non-compliance/non-conformance documentation and checklists when necessary
- Ability to follow instructions as given
QUALIFICATIONS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be able to interpret the standards, specifications, and procedures provided
- Preferring experience with MS Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of metal fabrication, welding and construction or similar techniques is not required but helpful
- Working knowledge of blasting, industrial painting or similar techniques is not required but helpful
- 2 years of experience in Quality Control processes
- You have demonstrated the ability to read and interpret specifications and basic drawings
- You have demonstrated the ability to use basic measuring instruments
- You must be able to work OT if needed
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to handle and climb 12 Ft. tall A Frame ladders
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of approx. 8 feet
- Ability to work at floor level, down low
- Ability to Follow verbal or written Instructions or processes
- Have 20/40 Corrected Vision or better in both eyes (same requirement as South Carolina Driver’s License)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions as well as indoors (most work is indoors in a non-climate-controlled warehouse
