Position Summary:
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily quality control operations in a high-volume pretzel manufacturing facility. This role ensures all products meet internal quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. The QC Supervisor will lead a team of technicians and collaborate closely with production, sanitation, and R&D teams, as well as oversee routine laboratory testing in the on-site Quality Assurance lab.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and schedule daily activities of QC technicians across all production shifts including determination of Holds, quality investigations, and rework projects.
Conduct inspections and audits of production lines to ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and company quality standards.
Audit quality testing performed in the on-site laboratory, including raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.
Investigate and document non-conformances; coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Maintain and calibrate lab instruments and production line monitoring equipment.
Assist in preparing for internal, customer, and third-party audits (SQF, BRC, FDA, etc.).
Train and mentor QC personnel on SOPs, safety protocols, and food quality standards.
Review and approve batch records, lab results, and daily quality reports.
Work with cross-functional teams to improve product consistency and reduce waste.
Participate in new product trials and shelf-life studies conducted in the QA lab.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates or Bachelor’s degree with focus in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred.
3+ years of quality control/assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment; pretzel, snack food, or baked goods experience preferred.
1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety programs.
Experience with laboratory testing methods and equipment (moisture analysis, texture testing, pH, sodium testing, etc.).
Proficient in Microsoft Office and QA data systems (e.g., ERP, LIMS, or SPC software).
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
· Works in an Office inside a Warehouse production environment
· May be exposed to Noise occasionally.
· Works near moving mechanical parts occasionally.
· Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to work with and around food allergens.
· Uses telephone, PC and copiers and other office equipment frequently.
