What You Will Do:
The Quality Engineer (QE), reporting to the Quality Manager, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a quality control system to ensure that the processing of materials into finished products meets quality standards. This role involves creating and initiating methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation. The QE devises sampling procedures, supervises the design of forms for recording quality checks, and prepares instructions for these processes. Additionally, the QE develops and implements methods to assess costs and responsibilities associated with nonconforming products. This position may also involve conducting training sessions and writing training manuals on quality-related issues.

Essential Duties and Tasks:
Achieves organization goals by taking ownership for completing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to work.
Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control, such as conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, and product inspection.
Acts as a customer interface for product launches, problem resolution, and continuous improvement of products and processes.
Assists in identifying or auditing root causes and corrective actions for nonconforming parts.
Evaluates discrepant hardware according to customer quality requirements and submits it to the customer for review and disposition.
Investigates and actively participates in Material Review Board actions.
Provides customers with data related to NPI development (such as FAI, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.) as required.
Submits and follows up on Vendor Corrective Action Requests (VCAR) for supplier-related quality issues.
Performs the quality portion of contract reviews and audits received, and Purchase Orders for changes in specifications or quality aspects.
Generates instructions for final inspection and processing of manufactured parts and assemblies.
Participates in internal audits of the Quality Management System.
Understands and applies principles of GD&T, FMEA, Gage R&R, and Capability Analysis as applicable.
Reads and understands blueprints and drawings of customer parts within the QE’s responsibility.
Reviews quality trends to prevent or reduce defects, identifies causes, and initiates corrective actions.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
Demonstrates the ability to influence others to achieve desired work outcomes positively.
Ensures compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Participates in proactive team efforts to meet departmental and company goals.
Education, Experience, and Competencies:

Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person.
Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality)
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with external and internal customers.
Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; applies basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously, organizing, and delegating as needed.
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and travelers, understanding safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and speaking effectively before groups.
Able to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where standardization is limited. Understands and interprets instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Perform effectively in accordance with the standards outlined in AS9100.

Physical Demand Levels:

Climb stairs multiple times per day.
Sit, stand, or walk distances for the entire duration of the shift.
Lift, push, or pull 35 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials.
