Position Summary

We currently have an opportunity available for a Quality Engineer with an electrical/electronic background. In this position you’ll work with the production and engineering teams as well as other departments and vendors to resolve quality problems. You’ll also propose and implement product and process quality improvement programs, perform analysis on key quality indicators using industry-accepted techniques, and make recommendations based on test and analysis findings.
This position reports to the Senior Quality Manager.

Exempt, based on the Professional Exemption

What You’ll Be Doing

Quality-based customer support for Production and the Business units.
Study scrap rates and determine methods of reduction.
Proactively determine ways to improve our first pass yield
Perform failure analysis and work with Production and Engineering to resolve quality problems
Perform trend analysis on key quality indicators using various statistical techniques
Manage improvement projects related to issues found in product returns
Manage the CAR (Corrective Actions Report) documents for customers that request it
Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical background
Ability to occasionally travel between manufacturing sites in Minneapolis and South Dakota, and various local vendor sites. Travel to international production locations in Mexico and China as well as suppliers in various countries may also be required. Our estimate of total travel is approximately 5%.

Preferred

3+ years of applicable experience in the electronics industry
1+ year of statistical analysis experience in a quality department for a manufacturer of electrical or mechanical products
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, databases, and statistical computer programs

Pay Range: $72,583 to $102,402

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
